Sterilization by hydrolysis

134° C - 18 minutes (Circular DGS/DH n° 100 of 12-12-1995)
Whatever the system of production of vapor, it will be appropriate to make sure by controls and analyses of the purity of water being used for this production.
This water must be :
of drinkable quality, filtered in all the cases,
of a hardness surplus not 5 with 7° TH (1TH = 10 calcium carbonate mgr/L. of water),
deprived of elements chlorinates and chlorides :
< 2 mg/liter > of a content phosphate < 0,5 mg/liter > * of a content of biogenic salts practically null :
- - - > Silica: < 1 mg/l,
- - - > Iron: < 0.2 mg/l,
- - - > Cadmium: < 0.005 mg/l,
- - - > Lead: < 0.05 mg/l,
- - - > heavy Metals except lead, iron, cadmium: < 0,1 mg/l.
This water should not contain :
nor tanates,
nor sulphites,
nor amines,
nor hydrazine,
nor chlorides,
nor permovapoline.

Products usually used by the heating specialists to prevent corrosion or to cure sedimentations in pipings. These products are very corrosive for the surgical instrumentation but also for the autoclave.
