Micro scissors

Scissors are the most sensible instruments at your disposal. They must be extremely smooth, precise, and well balanced to ensure that you achieve a clean, safe dissection and cut.

Making quality of scissors
100% control on the hardening process to achieve ideal shardness and prolonged edge life.
Joint calibrated blades to obtain ideal sliding tension.
Regularity and finesse of shanks for better equilibrium.

Two types of precision scissors
-Prestige (or Supercut)
The gold standard for precise dissection.
2 Blades : First, Micro Serrated to ensure a superior gripping of tissues. Second, Razor edged to Guaranty extreme precision
Indicated use for smooth or coarse tissues, but not recommended for cutting sutures.

-TC Inserts
A Tungsten carbide piece melted onto a stainless steel blade, shaped with the scissors, will improve the hardness and thus longevity of the scissors’ blades.

How to recognize the quality of the scissors ?
When using them, there must not be any cranking or frictions when the edges cross each other. Actions must be smooth and effortless down to the point of the blade. Sharpness must be perfect on the distal 1/3 of the blade.

What is the basic care ?
Never use precision scissors to cut sutures, as they could damage the edge of the blade. Scissors require occasional sharpening as a resultof long term use; the repair and maintenance center, Petel Services, can renew your scissors.
