Clamps are critical to ensure safety of a procedure. We are so diligent about the quality of our clamps to offer permanent clamping pressure control, ability to open and close with ease, excellent atraumatic tip serration.
What are the characteristics of clamps and forceps ? Deep and regular serrations of the jaws. Specially tempered to maintain strength and longevity of the atraumatic jaws. Joints calibrated to obtain the best alignment of the jaws. Deep serrations of the ratchets for safe and secure clamping/grasping and precise manipulation. Windows at the base of the jaws to improve elasticity and provide an atraumatic effect. Rounded tips preventing damage to flesh and tissue. Clamps and special forceps are classified by the profile of their jaws - DeBakey Jaws Traditional pattern, accustomed to almost all surgery procedures. Allows for atraumatic firm and precise grasping of the tissue. - Cooley Jaws Narrow profile is ideal for difficult vessels access. Also allows for a firm grip and limited squeezing. - Resano Jaws (on some special models) The profile allows for a strong grasping and the safest atraumatic grasping of heart tissues. How to consider the quality of the clamps and forceps ? When using them, you must be able to feel each ratchet teeth. The tip of the clamp and forceps must come in contact before the rest of the jaws; this ensures that the flesh will not slip from the grasp of the jaws. Also, the teeth of the jaws must not overlap, but merge properly. What is the basic care ? To ensure proper cleaning and sterilizing of the clamps and forceps, it should be processed with the jaws open. The meshing of the teeth also needs inspection periodically. |
